Easy Sweet and Sour noodles
I don't share a lot of recipes on my blog, but I have to share this one with you guys! It is my new go-to meal. Jason is kinda a really big foodie, and it takes a little bit of skill to appease him. I have found that this simple recipe is something he actually really likes {that's right folks, I can now make 4 meals that my husband loves.}
The best part of this recipe is that it is easy to do different things with, and only takes 20 mins to make. I can't take credit for coming up with it, I found it in my Better Homes and Gardens cook book {did you guys know that there are places other than Pinterest to find food ideas! Novel idea, huh}
Noodle Bowls
1 (14-ounce) can of chicken broth
1/2 cup bottled sweet and sour sauce
2 cups of frozen veggies (I usually just throw in as much as I want, whatever veggies sound good at the moment)
2 packages of top ramen
Combine chicken broth and sweet and sour sauce in a pot, bring to a boil. Stir in veggies and noodles (don't use the seasoning packets that come with the ramen). Let cook until everything is soft.
Yep, it's that easy. I add chicken to it so that it has a little more protein (I used breaded chicken patties in the photo. I baked them in the oven until they were crispy then cut them up and put them on top.)
You can substute the sweet and sour sauce for pretty much anything else, we love using peanut sauce. The cook book suggests beef broth (beef and broccoli), salsa (southwest style), pasta sauce (Italian) and pretty much anything else you think would taste good.
I hope this helps you guys as much as it has helped me! Bon appetite!
