Trends Your Man Hates: Bold Eyebrows
I am so excited about today's post! I've had this idea in the back of my mind for a long time, but it took me a long time to execute it!
If you man is anything like mine, he's not the biggest fan of fashion and beauty trends. There are so many things I want to try but usually pass up because I know my husband isn't a huge fan (I'm looking at you lipstick!) I found some like-minded ladies and we're all partnering up to show you how we rock a trend in a man-approved way. The links to their posts are at the bottom of the page, so skip ahead if you want to know about one of the other trends. Feel free to read my post too, ya know if you want. ;)
I love the bold eyebrows trend. I think eyebrows are a really defining part of the face that often go over looked. Like many ladies, I over plucked as a teen and have to put a bit of work into having a nice full brow. However, I can't get away with an awesome lined, filled brow without my husband announcing "Your eyebrows are too dark" in public (no joke, he said this to me last week at a friend's house!) So, here's my secret none-makeup-artist recipe to an easy bold brow that your man won't mind...too much
Step 1: Brush
I only use one tool when I'm filling in my brows (I told you I wasn't a make-up artist!) I use the Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil. I love it because it has a brush on one end and a pencil on the other. Super easy, no fuss. I always start off by brushing my brows. I'm in the "no-plucking" stage since I'm trying to grow my brows back out, so I like to just make sure everything is tamed down before I fill them.
Step 2: Fill
I differ from a lot of your average eyebrow tutorials here because I'm trying to keep it light and super natural. I do not line, or outline my brows. I simply do quick light swipes in the same direction as my brows to fill them in. This doesn't provide a lot of shaping, but it does give my brows a little more of a pop. If I feel like things got a little dark, or if my fill lines are noticeable I will use my fingers to blend the make-up a little.
Easy peasy and (somewhat) husband approved.
